A specific learning activity I integrate is the i-Ready Math Introduction to Multiplication activities. I use the i-Ready Math Introduction to Multiplication activities for assessments, whole group instruction, individual workbook assignments, group work, and last but not least, online lessons and activities for individual work. Some activities are ongoing, such as the multiplication learning games, they are both fun and educational and I can integrate them into daily multiplication practice. The activities include informative videos The online lessons provide the students with engaging interactive lessons and checkpoints, as well as games based on grade level math standards. Students spend up to 20 minutes each day utilizing the online lessons. Students can move onto the next lesson when their current lesson is passed.
• The content is based on grade level math standards and students are leveled and given online lessons based on their score from the diagnostic assessment. I also assign online lessons to students from a list of the grade-level math standards so that it correlates with what is being taught in class.
• I use the comprehend check form A for the standard I am planning to teach as a formative assessment to see what the students know before I teach, and to help me plan my lesson.
• I use the printable end of lesson quiz as a summative assessment for the lesson. This assessment determines proficiency and mastery readiness.
• Student data from the diagnostic is used to level the students and puts them on a lesson pathway that fits their specific learning needs. The data from the formative assessment, or comprehension check, is used to plan the lesson around what students need and to identify students who may need additional support. The data from the summative assessment is used to determine student proficiency, as well as identifying individuals who need to be retaught.
